Shima Mirzaei

Shima Mirzaei was unanimously appointed by the TJPA Board of Directors as the Chief Financial Officer in January 2024. She brings over a decade of public finance experience, including most recently, two years at San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency as Budget Manager where she managed a $1.4 billion 2-year Operating Budget and a $2.6 billion 5-year Capital Improvement Program. Before that she had an extensive career with the State of California in numerous high-level financial roles. She has technical accounting skills and is able to work with the team to get the day-to-day work done while having the legislative and policy experience to generate major project funding plans.

Ms. Mirzaei has an extensive understanding of transportation funding sources and knows what it takes both on the procurement and financial sides to get major projects done while balancing an operating budget.

Ms. Mirzaei has a Master of Business Administration from Azad University Science and Research Branch, Tehran, Iran; and a Bachelor of Science, Economics, from Allameh Tabatee University, Tehran, Iran.
