BECOME A PART OF HISTORY IN BRINGING RAIL SERVICE TO DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO

Apply to become a member of the TJPA’s Citizens Advisory Committee

The Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) is soliciting applications from Bay Area residents to serve on the TJPA Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) for two open seats: Bicycle Advocate and Daily MUNI Rider on a line that serves the Transit Center seats. This is an opportunity to help shape the discussion in the development of Phase 2 of the Transbay Program and provide input in the operation of the Salesforce Transit Center and rooftop park. Phase 2 of the Transbay Program includes the Downtown Rail Extension (DTX), which will connect Caltrain’s commuter rail service and the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s statewide system to downtown San Francisco. Past CAC members have contributed to the successful planning, development and construction of Phase 1 of the Transbay Program, which included the Salesforce Transit Center and rooftop park.

The TJPA seeks to appoint Committee members that represent the diversity of the Bay Area. We are looking for Bay Area residents to represent the following constituencies:

       1.  Bicycle Advocate (mid-term seat until March 2022)

       2.  Daily MUNI Rider on a line that serves the Transit Center (full-term seat until March 2023)

The TJPA CAC consists of 15 members representing specific constituencies, which represent the many local and regional groups impacted by the Transbay Program.  CAC full-terms are for a period of two-years and each member is eligible to serve a maximum of three consecutive terms.  The Bicycle Advocate seat opening is to fill a mid-term vacancy that will end by the next recruitment cycle in March 2022, and the Daily MUNI Rider seat opening is to fill a new term vacancy that will end by March 2023.  The TJPA CAC meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  Due to the State’s Executive Order N-08-21, which allows for teleconference participation of Committee members, meetings are currently held remotely.  Meetings are normally held at the TJPA office at 425 Mission Street, Suite 250, San Francisco, CA.  Consistent attendance is required.  For more information about the CAC, please visit https://tjpa.org/tjpa/cac/about-the-cac.
